Measure Map Generator

Upload a MIDI or MusicXML file to generate a measure-to-time map for the Choirspace app — it links every bar/measure to a timestamp in your uploaded playback recording, so Choirspace can loop practice by measure number.

Options

Use this if your audio file has silence before the first measure. NotePerformer exports often start about 1.0s after the MIDI timing — but Choirspace already has a NotePerformer preset that applies that offset automatically, so you usually only need this field for other renderers or a custom offset.

How this works & limitations

Each row is one measure with a start_seconds/end_seconds pair — the timestamp range in your playback recording where that bar sounds. That's what Choirspace uses to link score and audio: looping measure 12, for example, means playing back from that measure's start_seconds to its end_seconds, so singers can repeat one bar, jump to any bar, or practice a passage on loop without scrubbing through the recording by hand.

MIDI maps follow playback timing. If your MIDI export expands repeats, the rows follow playback order. MusicXML maps are calculated from notation data and may need review for repeats, D.S./D.C., codas, fermatas, ritardando, and other performance interpretation.

If your rendered audio has silence before the first measure, add an audio start offset. For example, if the first measure starts one second into the MP3, use 1.0s.

Generated maps are estimates unless they come from an exact playback export. Rows flagged "needs review" used a default assumption (tempo, time signature) or contain a performance instruction this tool doesn't interpret — spot-check those before relying on them for practice tools.
